Summer is just around the corner and here at Pamol®, we can’t wait for picnic weather. This is a wonderful time for families to enjoy the outdoors together, in the garden, at the beach, in our kiwi great outdoors.

A little bit of sun can be of great benefit for growing children, as sunlight provides a natural source of vitamin D. Remember though, kids can get sunburnt quickly, so be sure to follow the SunSmart guide1 when you are outdoors this summer. Slip on a shirt and into some shade, slop on some sunscreen, slap on a hat, and wrap on some sunglasses.
If your child does suffer from sunburn, here are some quick tips that may help them to feel better2:
- Cool their skin by sponging with cool water, or immersing the area in cool water.
- Drink plenty of fluids to help avoid dehydration.
- Apply a moisturising cream or lotion to soothe the skin.
- Pamol® may help to relieve pain if your child is very uncomfortable.
- Avoid going back out in the sun until the sunburn is completely healed.
- Speak with your doctor or pharmacist for more information on how to treat and prevent sunburn.
See your doctor if:
- The sunburn is widespread and severe
- Your child is under 18 months old
- The sunburn has caused blisters
Summer is a fantastic time for family, be sun safe so you can really enjoy it.
