Tips for bumps and bruises
The toddler years are full of lumps, bumps and bruises, which happen with great frequency as your little one learns to walk, climb and explore. Most can be treated with a cuddle or a distraction, but more severe bumps or bruises may need a little extra TLC.
To help your child feel better:
- Cuddles work best.
- Apply an ice pack (wrapped in a cloth) to any swelling.
- Pamol® may help to relieve pain (see our handy Dose Calculator to check the correct dosage).
- For bumps on the head, keep your child awake. Look for signs of strange behaviour, loss of consciousness, unusual sleepiness or vomiting and fever, and contact your healthcare professional immediately.
